A Platinum ring is usually alloyed (mixed) with other metals such as Iridium or Paladium. Usually expect around 90% to 95% Platinum. A Platinum ring will develop its own whitish luster after some time, known as a patina. This is part of the appeal of Platinum. If you wish you can take it to a jeweller to polish it but this is not necessary.
